Please join us on May 4th 2024 for the first event in the Queer Ecologies Lab series, a natural dye workshop with place-based fiber artist Kayla Powers, assisted by saylem celeste. In this four hour Natural Dye Workshop, participants will explore place-based art and seasonal color through the traditional processes of foraging and dyeing. Together, we will ethically and sustainably collect plants, prepare cotton, linen, and hemp fabric for dyeing, and bond color to cloth. Everyone will take home dyed fabric samples, recipes and process notes, as well as the knowledge and skills to forage and dye.
